Introduction

SliderZ is a one-piece, board-to-board connector system that uses a "slide" action in the vertical Z-axis to minimize assembly and service costs for mated printed circuit boards (PCBs). Previous board solutions required the use of ribbon cable and several connectors to link two boards together. SliderZ allows the user to mate or remove one PCB while leaving the adjacent PCB undisturbed. SliderZ features a hermaphroditic design, so the same connector is used in the mated pair. The connector has a 1.27mm (.050") pitch centerline spacing and is available in 10 through 60 select circuit sizes for a range of applications. Select-gold plating on the contacts ensures durability up to 1000 mating cycles. Prominent finger pulls allow for ergonomic handling and minimize stress to the board and connector. The versatile SliderZ connector is ideal for applications where easy servicing, upgrading or plug-in expansion of PCBs is preferred, including set-top boxes, vending and gaming machines, business equipment, high-end telecommunication devices and high-end audio/video devices.
